Episode 11: MILLIONS Of Americans Have These (and it’s causing disease)

Show Notes

Episode Description:

Could you have mercury in your mouth without even realizing it? Stacy Case did - and after a multiple sclerosis diagnosis, she began questioning whether her dental fillings could have played a role.

For award-winning investigative journalist Stacy Case, the answer was to start investigating.

In 2008, an MRI revealed 10 to 12 lesions on Stacy’s brain. Her search for answers eventually led her to question whether mercury exposure from recent dental work could have played a role in her illness.

On The Jordan Rubin Show, Stacy shares her decision to have her amalgam fillings removed and undergo medically supervised chelation therapy, the improvements she reports, and what subsequent brain scans revealed. Her personal experience fueled her advocacy for greater awareness of mercury exposure and dental amalgam.

Jordan and Stacy explore asking questions, investigating potential environmental triggers, and finding hope after a life-changing diagnosis.

Watch to the end for Jordan’s ‘Reduce Your Toxic Load’ Protocol, covering practical ways to reduce unnecessary exposures, understand dental amalgam and mercury, choose seafood with lower mercury levels, and support your body’s natural detoxification processes.

About Stacy Case:

Stacy Case is a two-time Emmy and two-time Edward R. Murrow Award-winning journalist with more than three decades of experience in television news, including work as a CBS Network News correspondent in New York and as an anchor and investigative reporter.

In 2008, Stacy was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis after months of neurological symptoms culminated in her suddenly losing the ability to walk. Her investigation into her own illness led her to suspect mercury exposure from dental amalgam fillings as a potential trigger.

Stacy ultimately had her amalgam fillings removed and underwent approximately two years of medically supervised IV chelation therapy. She reported a significant reduction in symptoms following the dental work and later had three consecutive annual MRIs without new lesions. Her neurologist confirmed that she was in clinical remission but did not agree that mercury exposure or her alternative treatments were responsible for her improvement.

Today, Stacy is the founder of Mercury Mom and an advocate for greater awareness of mercury exposure and dental amalgam. She has testified before the FDA and uses her journalism background and personal experience to encourage others facing chronic illness to ask questions, investigate their options, and remain hopeful.

Reduce Your Toxic Load Protocol

(5-6 Minute Read)

In 2008, investigative journalist Stacy Case woke up unable to walk.

An MRI revealed 10 to 12 lesions on her brain, and her neurologist was nearly certain she had multiple sclerosis. But rather than wait to see how the disease progressed, Stacy did what she had spent decades doing as a journalist: she started digging for answers.

Her investigation eventually led her back to dental work she'd had shortly before her symptoms began. Prior to her symptoms emerging, she had several old silver amalgam fillings removed and replaced with new ones. After learning that dental amalgam contains approximately 50 percent mercury, Stacy began investigating whether mercury exposure could have contributed to her illness.

She then had her amalgam fillings safely removed and underwent medically supervised chelation, a treatment that uses compounds that bind to certain metals so the body can eliminate them more easily. Stacy reported a significant improvement in her symptoms and went on to have three consecutive annual MRIs without new brain lesions.

Confidence doesn't always arrive with a bold entrance. Sometimes, it builds quietly, step by step, as we show up for ourselves day after day. It grows when we choose to try, even when we're unsure of the outcome. Every time you take action despite self-doubt, you reinforce the belief that you're capable.

The key to making things happen isn't waiting for the perfect moment; it's starting with what you have, where you are. Big goals can feel overwhelming when viewed all at once, but momentum builds through small, consistent action.

You don't need to be fearless to reach your goals, you just need to be willing. Willing to try, willing to learn, and willing to believe that you're capable of more than you know.
